Permanent make-up or micropigmentation is a process whereby natural, mineral pigments are administered just under the surface of the skin by means of a tiny, sterile, disposable needle. Three types of procedures are used to ensure the best results. These pigments are specifically designed for facial application, and contain no added fragrances or emollients. We only use MRI safe, fade resistant pigments. Permanent make up is distinct from tattooing and this process can last for many years, creating a natural-appearing coloring to enhance our client’s appearance.

EXPERIENCE

Shirley was trained in 1990 by Dr. Du, the top permanent makeup surgeon in China. Permanent makeup was such a hot trend in Asian countries at that time. Performing 8-10 procedures everyday laid a solid technical foundation for Shirley's career. After immigrating to United States, she continued her research in permanent cosmetics and received numerous advanced trainings. It is this combination of Eastern and Western techniques that makes Shirley's work superior to others. During her 12 years of specialized service in permanent cosmetics, her clients have ranged from US Congress women to housewives, Shirley has performed over 6000 procedures.

ARTISTRY

Shirley considers permanent makeup her ultimate calling to bring out the artistic, passionate and creative talents in herself. Since childhood, Shirley received training in painting. For her, each client is a live demonstration of her artistic work. Shirley believes consultation is the key communication between technician and client. To make a satisfied client, you need to know what they want and what they really need. When client comes in for a consultation, Shirley listens to them and works with them. Based on their skin tone, facial bone structure , eye and hair color and life style, she offers suggestions by showing them the finished look. It’s upon both of our satisfaction we start our job.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND AND CONTINUED EDUCATION

Shirley is a licensed cosmetologist and Advanced Permanent Makeup Artist and also holds a BA degree. Permanent makeup is a relatively young and fast developing industry. To keep up with the latest developments of the trade and benefit our clients with novel techniques and products, Shirley attends a minimum of two professional conventions/workshop per year.
